“When it comes to the vital risk around the generation and preservation of digital properties, it is not only the way sensitive content is stored, but a complete and thorough understanding of the entire life cycle of the private keys,” said James Croome, Arch’s Vice President of Fine Art and Specie. Because any breach could result in a financial loss for our clients, the safe generation, transfer, and storage of information, rather than simply the possession of data, is our most significant underwriting consideration. The significance of this distinction cannot be overstated, and our insurance policy wording was carefully crafted to mitigate the risk.”
Digital asset custodians can use Blue Vault to access a solution that allows them to pass digital asset storage risks during the private key management and storage life cycle. Ankur Kacker, Vice President and Specie expert on Marsh’s Digital Asset Risk Transfer (DART) team, said, “This is a big step forward in digital asset insurance.” “As the regulatory environment for this emerging asset class becomes clearer, and financial firms gradually expect insurance to cover digital asset exposures, safe storage of digital assets will continue to evolve.”
What is a nontraded reit?
Arch’s Vice President of Fine Art and Specie, James Croome, said: “When it comes to the essential risk associated with the generation and storage of digital assets, it’s not just about how confidential data is stored; it’s also about having a full and thorough understanding of the private key’s entire life cycle.
The Norton Rose Fulbright team was led by Nicholas Berry, a corporate insurance partner who said: “The value of obtaining a copy of a private cryptographic key is normally equal to that of owning the original. The equivalent of hundreds of millions of dollars in cryptocurrency is owned by certain custodians of keys for cryptocurrency accounts. As a result, systems that build, store, back up, retrieve, and delete these keys securely face inherent challenges. Our technology consulting team, led by Professor McBurney, worked with our lawyers to help with the creation of Blue Vault’s complex policy wording.”
