This alluring Mint State specimen radiates with great luster and exhibits only a touch of light toning near the peripheries, displaying stunning consistency and preservation. In September 2015, a similar case, an NGC MS-61, brought in a total of $3,600.

Bolivia, formally the Plurinational State of Bolivia, is a landlocked country in west central South America that was named after Simon Bolivar, a hero of the Spanish Empire’s liberation wars. It is bordered on the north and east by Brazil, on the south by Paraguay and Argentina, and on the west by Chile and Peru. Tin, zinc, antimony, tungsten, coal, natural gas, cotton, and coffee are the country’s main exports. It is one of South America’s poorest nations.
In 1827, the first boliviano was published. In previous currency, it was worth eight soles or half a scudo. It was originally divided into 100 centécimos, but in 1870, this was changed to centavos. Copper 1 and 2 centecimos, as well as silver 1 boliviano, were introduced in 1864. Silver 5, 10, and 20 centavos were introduced in 1870, with silver 50 centavos following in 1873 and copper 1 and 2 centavos following in 1878. Cupro-nickel 5 and 10 centavos were introduced in 1883.
