Find and dig out your septic tank access cover

The Bull Run ValveTM is a flow splitter for septic fields and systems. It is the most public health protected alternating system available for wastewater treatment applications, in addition to the advantages of longer life and simpler installation. Because of the valve’s leak-proof and exterior working features, the user has no direct interaction with wastewater. Without digging or interaction with wastewater, switching from one drainage area to another can be done in less than a minute by simply turning the valve.
THE VALVET IN ACTION
To guide effluent to one of two septic fields, the direction control handle should be rotated on a regular basis. The valve handle can be turned with the valve key given after removing the screw cap at the top of the riser tube.

The Bull Run® Valve from Clarus Environmental is designed to direct flow between two septic fields or systems. This valve can be manually operated to allow one field to rest while the flow is directed to the alternate field. The Bull Run® Valve, designed for seasonal or annual use, will help protect property values while also promoting a healthy climate. Because of the valve’s leak-proof and external-operating characteristics, the user has no interaction with wastewater. By simply turning the top bar, you can move from one drain field to another in less than a minute and without digging.

BURIAL DIRECT
The valve is designed to be buried in the pipe trench without the use of concrete or hold down straps. The septic tank effluent line must be connected to the valve port labelled “IN” when it is mounted. Every half of the drainfield is connected to the “OUT” valve ports.
Each valve port connection is a four-pin connector “female slip connection (schedule 40) The riser tube link is a four-way connection “male slip connection (schedule 40) To make a water-tight joint, use plenty of pvc, ABS, or multi-purpose glue. To link to the Valve, you can use any of the following methods.

Provide a non-corrosive flow control unit that can be rotated in the drainfield distribution box’s discharge piping. The system must have a 1-15/16′ diameter circular opening that is eccentrically located. This will ensure a consistent result in every rotated position. The unit must have a 1/8′ leveling lip that extends into the case. A cylindrical extension within the pipe with a radially expanding seal to initiate contact with pipe at least 3/4′ inside the pipe shall be used as the sealing means. For fast rotation, the unit must have a grasping edge on the periphery of the end faces. For simple finger gripping, the gripping edge should have six uniform extensions and valleys.
