Sea ice in Antarctica acts as an effective climate regulator. It forms a frozen solar reflector that covers 90% of the Southern Ocean at its peak seasonal rise. Via thermohaline circulation, this seasonal growth also drives the global ocean conveyor belts, with Antarctic bottom-water accounting for 30 to 40% of the total global ocean mass. These two massive processes are the bedrock of the entire climate system, regulating the planet’s surface energy balance. As a result, considering the far-reaching impact of the poles on the global climate system, understanding change within this system is important. The depth, area, and drift of sea ice in the Southern Ocean are regularly tracked by satellite, but little is known about its thickness.

In recent years, his research has primarily concentrated on magnetic material syntheses and structural characterisation. The application of several techniques that enable the formation of crystalline samples is a key part of effective synthesis here. As a result, X-ray diffraction studies are critical for structural characterisation and are at the heart of his study. SQUID magnetometry, neutron diffraction, and muon spin rotation are used to characterize the magnetic properties of the material. Dr. Price’s research focuses on manipulating solid-state structures to make or optimize specific functional properties. Low-dimensional and spin-frustrated magnetic behavior are often found in his magnetic materials, and a deeper understanding of these novel and cooperative phase behaviors is one of his top priorities.
The two-dimensional molecular-based ferrimagnetic materials A2M2[Cu(opba)]3nsolv [A+ = cation, MII = MnII or CoII, opba = ortho-phenylenebis(oxamato), and solv = solvent molecule] have dc and ac magnetic properties.

Disappearance Specifics Price was last seen in North Carolina’s Lexington. In the 100 block of Pearl Drive, he shared a house with two roommates. He left his mother a “very long, but troubling” voicemail message shortly before midnight on January 23, 2019. He hasn’t been seen or heard from since. On January 24, his girlfriend reported him missing.
When police arrived at his home in response to a missing persons call, they discovered his vehicle parked in the driveway, but neither he nor his roommates, Natasha Myers and Christopher Ryan Burgess, were present. Burgess’ red Chevrolet S-10 pickup truck, which was an older model, was also missing. Shortly after Price went missing, Myers and Burgess were also declared missing. On January 27, they both resurfaced and returned home, but Price did not, and he has never been heard from again. This case description includes photos of both roommates. They claimed to have gone on a quick trip to Tennessee.
Price was last seen by Burgess and Myers on January 23, when they were at an Oakwood Acres home near High Rock Lake. Price and Burgess shared ownership of the land. According to the roommates, they and Price split up in the early hours of the morning on January 23. Price’s girlfriend received a phone call at 1:15 a.m. and a text message at 1:40 a.m. at the same time.

Wow, that was incredible. The Flight of the Silvers was my most recent read. I don’t have any questions for you. I just want to say how fantastic this book was. I’m looking forward to hearing more. Oh, and unless I ask a comment, it won’t let me post it. So, when will the next one be released? I’m hoping it won’t be three years…

I’m 3-4 months away from sending a full draft of THE SONG OF THE ORPHANS to Penguin, which you’ll be happy to hear. They’ll carve a spot on their release calendar for it until they’re sure the book isn’t a hot raving mess. It won’t arrive right away, but neither will it take three years. (reduced)
Flight of the Silvers is the kind of book that makes me hate finding out about a series before it’s started. I despise waiting! At work, I listen to audio books, and during this one, I constantly timed out because I was too preoccupied with listening to type. I don’t have any questions, so don’t feel obligated to answer. I just wanted to gush for a few moments. You should, after all, be publishing. Man, write. 😉 Write!
