🤜 Is finn short for finnegan
VP Joseph Biden has a 10-year-old granddaughter named Finnegan, who is the middle daughter of Biden’s younger son (Robert) Hunter Biden. Naomi, 14, and Maisy (nn for Mabel), Finnegan’s parents, are 14 and 8, respectively. Biden’s mother, Catherine Eugenia Finnegan Biden, had the maiden name Finnegan.
In the Telegraph’s birth announcements, the names Finn and Finlay have been fairly common. Finn came in at number 48 and Finlay came in at number 54 among baby boy names in 2007. Finley and Finneas are also listed in the birth announcements from 2007.
Finnegan, on the other hand, doesn’t strike me as a girl’s name (unless it’s being used as a surname), but then again, Megan/Finnegan. I can see this name being adopted by females as well.
It’s intriguing. My guess is that Finnegan would not be as famous in Canada as it was in the United States, because many of us grew up watching Casey and Finnegan on Mr. Dressup and therefore associate the name with a dog puppet – however adorable he was!
Finnegan is often associated with the song Tim Finnegan’s Wake, which I would not like to share with a boy. I like Finn/Fin a lot, but for an elongated shape, Finley is the way to go.

😶 Finn name meaning
Finn is a lovely name, much better than any of the longer variations. Is it currently very popular? I’m so curious because I’m thinking about it with my own little package! For boys, I prefer shorter names.
To be honest, I think having the option of a longer version is preferable. Some abbreviated names sound adorable, but they aren’t enough adult names. Furthermore, the abbreviated cute name does not seem to be very professional. Finn is more of a child’s name to me; I don’t think it’s appropriate for adults.
I can’t tell you how much I despise made-up Irish names and misspelled Irish names!!!
People believe that if you add an I fada to every g, it will become an Irish name. No way!!! There are rules to follow when it comes to spelling and pronunciation.
Most finbarr (and they spell it differently) people around here are shortened to Barry, but I suppose you could shorten to find if you wanted? I’m in Cork, and I recently met a Niall, who goes by the name Neil. Cornelius is his father’s name. Cornelius is Niall’s name. Cornelius is the name of his son Connor. Neil is another Cornelius I know.
🤩 Finn names
💜 Is finn short for finley
Hello, everybody! We’re expecting a baby next summer and need some advice naming it. I’m looking for suggestions for their full name, which would be [name]Finn[/name] (boy or girl). If it’s a guy, their middle name would be [name]Jett[/name], but I’m not sure about a girl’s middle name.
Thank you all for your feedback. It is greatly appreciated. I’m leaning toward [name]Finnian[/name] at the moment. [name]Findley[/name] or [name]Jett[/name] For a guy, [name]Jett[/name] [name]Phineas[/name] is something I like, but my husband doesn’t. I really like [name]Griffin[/name], but that is the name of my dog, so that is out :-). What are your thoughts on Finlan as a boy?
Please spell [name]Finley[/name] for the girl; there is no need to develop a new spelling; it will still be pronounced the same way, but it will be inconvenient for her to have to spell it out every time. [name]Finleigh[/name] seems to be wearing make-up.
Finlan reminds me of Finland, and [name]Findley[/name] is appropriate but may be confused with [name]Finley[/name]. But I adore [name]Finnian[/name]!! If you’re bold enough to use it, [name]Phineas[/name] is also fantastic!
