James patterson joins marvel for max ride: first flight

Max Ride is a Marvel comic book miniseries that adapts the first three books in the Maximum Ride series. In April of 2015, the first arc premiered. A different creative team worked on each of the three arcs. Marguerite Bennett wrote the first arc, while Jody Houser wrote the second and third.
“The soaring adventures of Max and the “flock” – Fang, Iggy, Nudge, Gasman, and Angel – a group of ordinary teenage kids – only they are the product of genetic tampering that has given them extraordinary abilities, but their lives quickly morph into a living nightmare as they try to escape their creators and protect themselves from half-human, half-wolf “Erasers,” according to the series’ description.

At Marvel’s New York Comic-Con Panel in October 2014, it was revealed that James Patterson would work with Marvel to turn Maximum Ride into a comic series. Max Ride: First Flight, the first arc, was launched in April 2015.
I’ve given Marvel permission to use my work. In reality, I encouraged them to make this Marvel’s “Maximum Ride,” so I anticipate some story changes. We’ll probably have to age the kids a little…. I’d like them to have a go at it. It’s clearly a visual series, which I think is fantastic. It’s my hope that it’ll be the best series I’ve ever worked on. That’s what I’d like to see happen.

For starters, I was born and raised in Washington, D.C. Second, Maximum Ride already has a (in my opinion, fantastic) graphic novel adaptation in the form of NaRae Lee’s Maximum Ride: The Manga. I figured doing another adaptation would be a slap in the face to her and her incredible work. So I was apprehensive when I bought the first issue. In terms of plot, it’s mediocre. I’m not sure if I’m giving Bennet her due or if I’m missing the point of the adaptation, but the story is lifted alm.

Not only will there be a new novel called Maximum Ride Forever, which will be released in May 2015 (rather than January 2015 as originally planned), but Patterson has also teamed up with Marvel to create a comic book series based on the franchise.
Marguerite Bennett (Angela: Asgard’s Assassin, Amazing X-Men) and Alex Sanchez (Elektra) will collaborate on James Patterson’s Max Ride: First Flight, which will follow the fast-paced exploits of Max, a teenage girl who is part human and part avian due to genetic tampering, and Marvel Comics is set to elevate Max and her “flock” into an even bigger pop-culture property.
“At Marvel, we’re always looking to build bold stories that challenge expectations and draw new fans into the world of comics—and that’s what we hope to do with ‘Max Ride,’” says series editor Sana Amanat. It’s the familiar world of Maximum Ride retold in a gripping Marvel tale. We’re adding an additional shot of adrenaline to a heart-pounding adventure.”
