The Size of the Holder is the First Step – The important coin holder guide to size is the first step in keeping your US and foreign coins sorted. Millimeters are used to make all of the coins (mm). Knowing the size of your coins will assist you in selecting the appropriate coin holder for them.
These holders have two functions: they help you arrange your collection by sequence and they keep track of the coins you still need. Albums and directories also help to secure your coins when they are being displayed. Our Heads and Tails blog on modern album and folder design takes you on a journey through time, featuring the most amazing ‘album’ we’ve ever seen!
Grade-certified coins are increasingly being stored in hard-shell, tamper-resistant plastic holders with labels attesting to their classification. We also supply collectors with custom boxes seized to these holders, as you’ll see in this blog on hard-shell plastic holders, including ones for our famous Showpaks, which include mini story cards on each encapsulated coin in the plastic holders.

Back to basics – best protection for your valuable coins

Many coin collectors prefer to store their coins in cardboard coin holders. Every cardboard holder we sell is PVC-free and archival safe. Stapled and self-sealing cardboard holders are available at the Coin Supply Store. In all of collecting, the staple style holder is perhaps the most commonly used holder. Simply place a coin in the staple style holder, fold it over, and staple it. While the self-seal has not been around as long as the staple seal, it is rapidly gaining popularity. Peel off the backing of the self-sealing holders, insert a coin, then fold and press to close. Both types of holders are simple to operate. We also sell storage boxes and pocket pages to keep your cardboard coin holders organized.
