The Phase IV renovations were the final phase of a 10-year renovation project to modernize the building and site, including improved security features and system upgrades. New security measures, landscaping, brick paver walks and drives, retaining walls, site lighting, drainage systems, and a new parking lot were among the property’s enhancements. To meet the security criteria while maintaining an open feel, a combination of retaining walls, planter boxes, and stainless steel bollards were used on the site. A “dry moat” was also built on the northwest corner of the site to allow views into the site while also shielding it from vehicles. Walter P Moore assisted in the creation of a comprehensive paving system that would give the GSA the look of brick pavers while providing the durability of conventional concrete paving. The concrete pavement also had a complex joint structure to prevent concrete cracking from reflecting through the brick pavers above. New storm water cisterns and sump pump systems have been installed at the site to catch and store storm water runoff caused by the site. The two underground storage systems would help the GSA achieve the project’s sustainability targets by reducing the amount of potable city water used for irrigation.
Art in architecture: anne lindberg’s “curtain wall”
The Richard Bolling Federal Building, which was built in 1962, has become a familiar landmark on the Kansas City skyline. For the $250 million, 18-story, 1.2 million square-foot office building renovation, Helix and partner firm GastingerWalker& offered architectural, architecture, engineering, abatement, and construction management services. The renovation used invisible architecture to avoid displacing any of the building’s 30 tenants. Tenants have registered fewer sick days and increased talent recruitment since the renovation. The project was recognized with a National GSA Design Award and is used as a benchmark for all other projects of similar scale.
Your leadership and teamwork were critical to the renovation’s success in the process. Over the past 14 years, it has been a true pleasure to work with all of the professionals at Helix.”
Shaheen bagh: man with gun at protest, paranoia grips
The Richard Bolling Federal Building is a federal building in Kansas City, Missouri, located at 601 East 12th Street. The house, which was completed in 1965, is located in Kansas City’s Central Business District and is bordered by East Twelfth, East Thirteenth, Locust, and Holmes avenues. In 1994, Congressman Richard Walker Bolling was given the building’s name.
The federal government expanded rapidly in the years following WWII, and the evolving demands of the federal workforce necessitated office buildings built to meet new challenges. Growing experience with advanced construction materials and technology, as well as mechanized mass-production methods for building components, provided architects with new ways to design practical and cost-effective structures. Building materials such as structural steel, glass, and concrete became common. At the same time, the American public was open to modern architectural styles and ideals that had never been seen before. Federal architecture in the United States was less formal, monumental, and ornate than in previous periods, and government buildings started to imitate private architecture for the first time. 1st

This project was part of the GSA Design Excellence Program and included a four-phase interior and exterior building renovation. The Richard Bolling Federal Building, a 1,200,000-square-foot structure in downtown Kansas City, was completed in 1965. JE Dunn oversaw the renovation project’s building.
