Communist countries are notoriously cruel against Christians, as well as citizens of all faiths, since communism views religion as the opiate of the masses. Christians are often sent to labor camps in North Korea, the world’s most closed region, where they are starving and worked to death. Since the nation is so restrictive, Christian parents sometimes delay teaching Christianity to their children until they are certain that their children will not turn against them or other family members. China and Laos are also communist countries with strict laws against Christians and other religious minorities.
Iran is an Islamic country where Sharia law governs. Iran, like many other Sharia-compliant Islamic nations, has a sizable Christian minority. However, some of their non-Christian neighbors have harassed and persecuted these Christians. They will face prison time if they try to convert someone who was not born into a Christian family to Christianity. Furthermore, if a Muslim in Iran attempts to convert to Christianity, he or she could face imprisonment or even death.

😏 Christianity being banned

The Voice of the Martyrs recently released a world map that shows where it is most difficult to own or carry a bible. We are proud to be working for the same purpose as VOM in getting bibles into these countries.
There are several other ministries that print, ship, smuggle, and deliver God’s word to these locations. There are about as many different tactics as there are ministries, and it’s incredible to think about how God orchestrates his plans: One ministry publishes, another employs cutting-edge digital technologies, and yet another gathers and recycles waste.
Finally, it’s worth remembering that, in many larger countries, perceptions differ depending on where you go. Any states or areas within a nation may have more religious freedoms or less stringent adherence than others.
We load products into cargo containers and ship about 20 tons at a time to distributors in port cities. It’s a large task, but it’s the most efficient use of our money. When the numbers are crunched, every $1 you donate brings 10 pounds of the gospel into the 10/40 window, thanks to bulk shipping, recycled supplies, and a lot of volunteer labor.

😂 Why was the bible banned

Bibles could be de facto banned as a result of restrictions on attempts to convert adherents of other religions. Similarly, even though there is no legislation expressly prohibiting Bible publishing or possession, government acts in the name of “public order” can have the same effect. Despite ostensible constitutional assurances to the contrary, successful prohibitions on religious freedom have been enacted in some instances. Different areas of the same country or at different times can have different experiences.
Other organizations operate in some of these countries, including United Bible Societies chapters in Algeria, Iraq, Morocco, and China, as well as some presence in Comoros, Djibouti, Mauritania, and Somalia. In Iran, the Catholic Bible Federation is also involved. It’s possible that not all of these initiatives will be fully accepted by the government.
The US State Department publishes annual reports on religious freedom that provide comprehensive assessments of the situation on the ground in each region. They make a distinction between what the law says, how the government does, and how the rest of society reacts.

😋 Countries that ban missionaries

The Voice of the Martyrs is a non-profit, interdenominational Christian group dedicated to assisting persecuted Christians all over the world. Pastor Richard Wurmbrand, who was imprisoned for 14 years in Communist Romania for his faith in Christ, founded VOM in 1967. Sabina, his partner, was sentenced to three years in jail. Richard, Sabina, and their son Mihai were ransomed out of Romania and brought to the United States in the 1960s. The Wurmbrands used their travels to spread the word about the persecution of Christians in repressive countries, as well as to create a network of offices dedicated to assisting the persecuted church. The Voice of the Martyrs is still carrying out this task around the world today, with the following key goals in mind:
