The very first is Thomas Thomas Thomas Thomas Thomas Thomas Thomas Thomas Thomas Thomas was just a wooden toy when he was created by the Rev. W. Awdry for his son, Christopher. This engine had side tanks that sloped down to the front of the smokebox, making it look very different from the character in the books and television shows. He was painted teal-green with yellow lining and had the number 1 painted on both sides of his bunker, as well as the letters “NW” painted on his side tanks. Thomas and his friends worked on the North Western Railway, which Awdry said stood for “No Where.” Later works would describe the railway Thomas and his friends worked on as the North Western Railway.

Sam is a massive American tender locomotive that hails from the Virginian Railway. He briefly assisted in the transport of parts to a museum and in the vital task of delivering the bell to Percy following his accident.
Sam is a locomotive that is both large and strong. He came to Sodor Island to assist Thomas and Percy with the building of the Sodor Museum. He gathered the museum’s heavy loads of rails and stone. When Percy fell into a ditch, he assisted him in getting Percy and the museum bell back on track. When Rocky was unable to lift the bell to the clock tower, Sam did so. Sir Topham Hatt rewarded Sam’s assistance by allowing him to lead the first group of visitors into the museum.
Sam is seen pulling a goods train through the Southwest of the United States in Big Country! Big Adventures! He runs into Thomas, Ace, and Nia, who are all bringing coffee to San Francisco, and they all say hello.
Sam is the biggest and most powerful steam engine to ever visit the Island of Sodor, hailing from the United States of America. Sam is a super-strong engine with a huge heart to match his large size. He can travel far and wide to support an engine in need.

Leaders must think objectively, make difficult decisions, inspire others, and achieve business objectives. Leaders must also understand themselves, both their strengths and their flaws. The Leadership and Management Curriculum is designed for those who are new to leadership or professional professionals who are taking on their first direct reporting role. To get a baseline of your leadership skills, you’ll start with a self-assessment. You’ll learn how to improve your leadership toolkit in the sessions that follow:
Case studies, simulations, group discussions, and real-world tests enable you to put your new leadership skills to the test before applying them in the workplace. Small class sizes foster collaboration and aid in the creation of a network of fellow leaders. The sessions take place on the downtown Minneapolis campus, where parking is available within a one-block radius. This software does not have any prerequisites.
Our Leadership and Management program is for professionals who want to increase their influence as a transformational leader in their current position and organization. This curriculum is tailored for new leaders or those who have moved from being a strong individual contributor to being a community leader without any formal leadership training. Managers who want to take on more leadership roles and advance their careers will prosper as well. Titles and/or job functions of participants may include, but are not limited to:

Even the most negative incidents have significance for extraordinary leaders, and they will benefit from them. They emerge from adversity stronger, more secure in themselves and their mission, and more dedicated to their work, like phoenixes rising from the ashes.
Sidney Harman, co-founder of Harman Kardon and president of an unconventional college that promotes student-driven learning, met his crucible when “all hell broke loose” in one of his factories. Staff revolted after bosses delayed a planned break because the buzzer didn’t strike. One screamed, “I don’t work for no buzzer.”
Harman saw a surprising correlation between student-driven education and business in this refusal to bow to management’s irrational law. Harman, a pioneer of participative management, turned his factory into a college, offering classes and promoting dissent. He sees the uprising as a watershed moment in his career, the moment he realized he was a true leader.
Some crucibles are aggressive and life-threatening (prejudice experiences, illness); others are more optimistic but equally daunting (such as demanding bosses or mentors). Whatever the form, leaders build a story of how they overcame the difficulty and improved as a result. Consider the following scenario:
